My Book #Shelfie: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson, is pure self-help gold. For decades, we’ve been told how to be happier. People have written countless books on how to look at the bright side of crappy situations. Well, Mark Manson just came over and flipped that advice on its head.
The premise behind this book is pretty simple. Grow a pair and live with the shitty situations that life hands us. That doesn’t mean you should maintain a negative outlook on life; it just means you need to pick your battles. Stop worrying about putting a cherry on top of every issue you come across. Instead, lift yourself up by your bootstraps and find happiness through the bullsh*t.
This book is equal parts humor and guidance. Find the real things that make you happy and screw all the trivial stuff. That’s all just filler. To live a fulfilled life, according to Manson, we have to weed out the shallow and monotonous aspects of our days.
With a very in-your-face attitude, this book was surprisingly clever and discussed many relevant topics. We strongly recommend this one to those who need help figuring out where to begin guiding their life to the true substance.
